No, that's not sarcasm. He actually gave a succinct, pointed speech contrasting Bush-McCain (as he framed it) and Obama. He showed some of the energy and spirit that many felt was lacking in his campaign for president four years ago. If you weren't watching on C-Span or PBS (or streaming it online), then you probably heard little or none of it, since the highly paid anchors and analysts need to earn their paychecks and showing the convention just gets in the way.
